Released in the United States and Canada on January 28, 2011, The Mechanic is an American action thriller film starring Jason Statham as the title character. It is directed by Simon West, is a remake of the 1972 film of the same name that starred Charles Bronson. Statham stars as Arthur Bishop, an excellent and professional assassin who specializes in making his hits look like accidents, suicides, or the acts of petty criminals. Bishop is the best in this circle. But when his mentor and close friend Harry (Donald Sutherland) is murdered, Bishop is anything but detached and is given a self-imposed mission -- he wants those murderers dead. His situation becomes complicated when Harry's son Steve (Ben Foster) came to him for the same goal. Bishop has always acted alone but he can't turn his back on Steve, thus a deadly partnership was born, which they are going to face is really dangerous for the partners.
