Another weekend, now. Have you guys made your plan for the weekend? And again, I would like to share with you the latest news on Blu-ray releases for next week. There are some popular movies are going to be available on Blu-ray discs, just like Wake Wood, The Adjustment Bureau, Growth, Priest of Love, etc. Let's take a look of these Blu-ray discs:
Wake Wood (on June 20)
A 2011 horror film. As a UK and Irish co-production by Hammer Films, The Wake Wood is directed by Ireland's David Keating. It stars Timothy Spall, Eva Birthistle, Dan Gordon and Aidan Gillen. The Wake Wood Blu-ray would be released on June 20th.
Plot: Still grieving the death of nine-year-old Alice – their only child – at the jaws of a crazed dog, vet Patrick and pharmacist Louise relocate to the remote town of Wake Wood where they learn of a pagan ritual that will allow them three more days with Alice. The couple find the idea disturbing and exciting in equal measure, but once they agree terms with Arthur, the village’s leader, a far bigger question looms – what will they do when it is time for Alice to go back?
The Adjustment Bureau Blu-ray (on June 21th)
A 2011 American film loosely based on the Philip K. Dick short story, "Adjustment Team". As a romantic science fiction thriller, the film was written and directed by George Nolfi and stars Matt Damon and Emily Blunt.
Plot Synopsis: On the brink of winning a U.S. Senate seat, charismatic politician David Norris (Matt Damon) meets Elise Sellas (Emily Blunt), a woman unlike any he’s ever known. As he realizes he’s falling madly in love with the beautiful, contemporary ballet dancer, strangers conspire to keep the two apart. David learns he is up against the men of the Adjustment Bureau, who will do everything in their considerable power to prevent the pair from spending the rest of their lives together. In the face of overwhelming odds, he must decide whether to accept his predetermined path and let her go…or defy Fate and risk everything to be with the woman he loves.
Growth (on June 21th)
A 2010 American horror film, written and directed by Gabriel Cowan. The Growth Blu-ray disc would be released on June 21th.
Plot: In 1989 on Kuttyhunk island, acclaimed scientist Mason Lane used microscopic parasites to advance human evolution. The experiment resulted in stronger, smarter, healthier humans, but something went wrong, and three quarters of the island's residents perished. Twenty years later, Jamie Akerman (Mircea Monroe), who fled the original outbreak, inherits the island to discover a new, more dangerous outbreak has just emerged.
Priest of Love (on June 21th)
Plot: The later years of the life of author D.H. Lawrence are dramatized in this critically acclaimed biography. Following the controversial reception of his novel The Rainbow, David Herbert Lawrence (Two-time Academy Award Nominee, Ian McKellen, X-Men series, Lord of the Rings series) and his wife Frieda (Academy Award Nominee, Janet Suzman, A Dry White Season, Nuns on the Run) leave England for the U.S., where they hope that Lawrence's bold themes will be received in a more tolerant climate. Such is not the case, and the Lawrence's travel first to Mexico, and then to Italy while David attempts to complete and then publish his best known (and most controversial) work, Lady Chatterley's Lover. However, as the furor over the book taxes David's well being, tuberculosis saps his physical health. Also starring Academy Award Nominee (and screen legend) Ava Gardner (Mogambo, The Barefoot Contessa, Pandora and the Flying Dutchman) in one of her last big screen roles and Academy Award Winner John Gielgud (Arthur, Elizabeth).
